The AccuVoice AV205 Speaker is an advanced version of our AV200 Speaker that can be "fine tuned" to the hearing impairment of an individual. While the "one setting fits all" approach of the AV200 works very well for most people, if you have more severe hearing impairment, the AV205 may be right for you.

Can’t hear dialogue on TV? We can fix that! The AccuVoice AV205 uses hearing aid technology to make voices crystal-clear, even at low volumes. The AV205 can be adjusted to match your ears! ZVOX's proprietary technology literally lifts voices out of the sound track - and then modifies the voices to make them understandable. We have never heard dialogue this clear and sharp. You'll hear every word, even on poorly mixed programs or British programs.

The AccuVoice AV205 Speaker uses patent-pending technology to make voices clear and easy to understand when you watch a program, movie or sporting event on TV. It is an advanced version of our AV200 model, and is designed so that it can be "fine tuned" to the hearing impairment of an individual. While the "one setting fits all" approach of the AV200 works very well for most people, if you have more severe hearing impairment, the AV205 may be right for you.

Five Levels of Sound Tailoring.

There are five special settings on the AV205's Audiology Remote Control. Note: While you may be able to properly adjust the AV205 to your hearing, we suggest you have a trained hearing aid specialist adjust it after a hearing test. The specialist can then use the results of the test to properly match the speaker to your ears. If you’re having a lot of trouble understanding TV dialogue, a hearing test is a good idea for a number of reasons (for example, you could have an infection or a damaged eardrum).

Taming Loud Commercials.

If you've ever been blasted out of your chair by a too-loud commercial - you'll love our Output Leveling (OL) feature. Just push the OL button and a sophisticated processor takes over, making soft sounds louder and loud sounds softer, so there are fewer jarring moments when switching channels or when commercials come on. This system also helps by boosting the audio levels from a DVD or Blu Ray player that are not loud enough.

Personalized Sound to Match Your Ears

The five setting for the AV205 are 1) Focus - increases the emphasis on dialogue. 2) Voice - adds artificial harmonic distortion to words to add an edge to their clarity. 3) Frequency compensation - increases the emphasis on frequencies in the "consonant range," which are the key to dialogue intelligibility. 4)Bass reduction - reduces bass which would otherwise interfere with voice reproduction. 5) Compression - restricts variations in volume so that all sounds are about the same loudness. When the adjustments have been made, they can be stored as the "AccuVoice 1" setting on the speaker. The AccuVoice 2 option is a mild generic setting that most listeners will appreciate. It's simple to use the remote control to switch between AccuVoice 1 and AccuVoice 2 -- depending on who is listening at the time.

Headphone Jack Lets You Enjoy AccuVoice Sound Privately

The headphone/subwoofer-output jack (located on the back panel) allows you to connect a set of headphones or an external powered subwoofer. If you connect headphones -- either a "wired" or "wireless" model, you can send an AccuVoice-modified signal to the headphones. That way you can ge the full benefit of our patented AccuVoice dialogue-boosting system in your favorite headphones! Alternately you can use the jack to connect an external powered subwoofer to add more bass to the sound of your system.

Many Placement Options

You can place the AV205 in front of your TV, or on a shelf anywhere near your TV. Or you can wall-mount it using the hanger slots built into the back of the speaker.

PhaseCue® Virtual Surround Sound

ZVOX's proprietary PhaseCue virtual surround processing gives you rich, three-dimensional sound with movies or music. Sound & Vision magazine calls it "remarkably ingenious."

Will Work with Most Remote Controls

It’s easy to program the speaker so that it responds to power, volume and mute commands from your current IR (infrared) remote control.

Disappearing Display

The speaker features a four-digit display located behind the speaker grille that shows the current setting for volume, bass, treble and PhaseCue® (virtual surround) - and also shows when you have engaged the Mute, Output Leveling (OL) or AccuVoice (ACCU) features. A few seconds after you stop using your remote (or front panel) controls, the display disappears completely.

Aluminum Cabinet

AccuVoice Speakers use strong, acoustically correct aluminum cabinets. Thin aluminum cabinet walls allow for maximum internal volume without sacrificing acoustic quality.
